Official Trailer Breakdown
The trailer for You, Me, Us Netflix sets up a couple who bicker constantly but clearly adore each other. The humour comes from their nonstop negotiation over small things, which makes the later, bigger disagreement land harder.
Then the mood shifts. The prospect of adopting a child pushes both of them to say things they have avoided, and the preview hints that the comedy will sit alongside real emotion.
- Simone and Lucia trading playful arguments that end in affection.
- A contrast between his love of routine and her love of freedom.
- The first conversations about adopting a child.
- Family members weighing in on the couple’s choices.
- Tender moments that cut through the jokes.

Story of You, Me, Us
Simone and Lucia could hardly be more different. He is orderly and attached to family tradition, while she is independent, resists convention and has long been against becoming a mother.
Their differences usually end in a laugh, but that changes when they decide to look into adoption. Suddenly each of them has to face fears and wishes they have kept at arm’s length.
Netflix frames it as a sentimental comedy, and the central question is whether two people this unlike can meet in the middle. It sounds warm rather than heavy, with plenty of room for jokes.
Simone and Lucia
Simone, played by Elio Germano, wants stability. Lucia, played by Maria Chiara Giannetta, wants room to be herself.

You, Me, Us Age Rating & Parents Guide
In the United States the film is listed as TV-MA, which is for mature audiences. We have not found an Italian or Indian rating.
Netflix has not given specific advisories. A dramedy about relationships may include adult conversation, language and romantic scenes. It is best suited to ages 16+, and we would treat it as an adult watch until more details appear.
Release Date & Where to Watch
You, Me, Us premieres on Netflix on October 29, 2026, following its Rome Film Fest screening on October 18. It is a Netflix exclusive, so it will stream only on the platform.
Should You Watch It? Our Verdict
Verdict: Worth a try. A warm, grown-up romantic dramedy with two strong leads.
This verdict is based on the trailer, the cast and the premise. The film has not yet released on Netflix and we have not found published critic reviews from the festival, so there is no score.
Elio Germano and Maria Chiara Giannetta look well matched, and a story about adoption gives the comedy something real to push against. The risk is that the formula, opposites who must compromise, is familiar.
Watch it if you like:
- Italian romantic comedies
- relationship dramedies with heart
- stories about family and parenthood
Skip it if:
- you avoid subtitled films
- you want fast plot twists rather than character moments
Final Thoughts
You, Me, Us Netflix looks like an easygoing but emotional pick for the end of October. If the trailer charmed you, mark October 29 and check back after launch for more.
